Blind Spot. It has nothing to do with highway.
Most people know Blind Spot as a term used in driving on a highway and looking in rear view mirror before changing lanes. This blog howerver has nothing to do with looking back. This blog is more about a Blind Spot which is in front of you. There is a medical term when if you close one eye there is an area in front of you that is invislble to you. But this blog isn’t about that either. It’s more about our way of looking at software and it’s about what’s there clearly visible yet what we just don’t see because we don’t have the context, don’t have the ontology, don’t have the language to speak about it.
Sort of like the fact that the names of the colors are not in the colors of the names trick:
YELLOW BLUE ORANGE BLACK RED GREEN PURPLE YELLOW RED ORANGE
You see Green but it’s titled Yellow. You see Red but it’s named Blue. There is what’s there and then there is a meaning of the thing you are looking at. I think this is how I would see this blog about.
I also started it because I am looking for a job, my next software testing project and I want to write some things for my potential employers so they can learn how I can fit, contribute to their projects.
